After spending a week getting lost under the sequoias in Yosemite, I’m ready for a vacation from this vacation. Since I didn’t dare go an entire seven days without my beloved internet, these are the greatest things I stumbled upon during my down time that will better your mind, body, and soul. If you’ve only got five clicks, spend them right here. See you on Monday for how to spend three days in South Beach!
I’m personally in a never ending battle to eat more vegetables. But perhaps it’s not entirely my fault that I can’t seem to meet my daily quota of the green stuff. Check out how one city is changing how eaters view their produce. Now that I’m suffering from that after vacay-coma, I see a lot of spinach smoothies in my future.
Sometimes a break is in order, and the longer you deny it, the more likely you are to crack. Listen to how you’re feeling and recognize when you need to step away from whatever it may be that’s holding you down. It can be hard initially, but the work will always be there when you return. Real talk.
Even at the eye of a hurricane there is peace. Often time’s it’s not outside of us that causes stress, but what’s going on within us. Here’s how to maintain balance no matter what course life takes you. It’s only when it’s hardest to achieve peace that we really need it most. If you’re looking for some more peace-inducing reads, check out this post here.
Is it only a matter of time before we are all vegetarians? This Nobel prize winner thinks yes. Your urban garden is really going to come in useful about now!

Every time you eat is an opportunity to Nourish your body.
Couldn’t agree more!
Being a vegetarian really isn’t that difficult. I was one for 11 years and I did just fine. The hard part is that people judge you for it and try to talk you into eating meat again! 🙂
Not eating meat defintely reduces the risk of having unhealthy stuff in your body.
Definitely. And it continues to get easier and easier as it becomes more mainstream! Just makes me feel better overall.
Been vegetarian for about 24 years now.. And I’ve definitely noticed it get easier over the years 🙂 Good luck!
24 years, wow! I’m about 12 years in and couldn’t agree more that it gets easier over time. I think the world is also shaping itself to be easier for us herbivores.
I’ve been a vegan for 4 years and before that I was a vegetarian for a year. It was the probably the most mindful decision I ever made in my life! Can you imagine if the whole world went veggie? Oh my goodness, that’s such a nice thought! Juicing has been a big helper in me getting in a lot more veggies. Before that, as much as I tried, it was always a struggle. So, I know what you mean. Sounds like you’re doing pretty great though 🙂

Wow! That’s amazing. I love the idea of a veggie-filled world! But, it’s comforting to know that it seems to be getting more and more popular, I can especially tell from all the new vegan restaurants opening up around DC! I have yet to get into juicing (I know I know, what kind of veggie am I) since I’m all about my smoothies. But perhaps a juicer is just what I need to change it up. Thanks for your thoughts!
